Service Description

Are you finding that it feels like there are more differences than similarities between the people in your system? To what degree is the focus on disparities versus collective aspiration? Systems Thinking Habits and Tools builds organizational capacity to:
  • recognize and explore interdependencies and connectedness among diverse perspectives that lead to periodic breakdown and misalignment e.g.Every action and interaction can have a ripple effect on the whole.
  • revisit core purposes and desired outcomes that support a shared vision, e.g. A vision shared by all evolves, versus a vision coming from those in charge.
  • re-establish meaningful connections and nurture a culture that values diverse perspectives, civility and productivity e.g. The quality of relationships impacts the quality of thinking, actions and results.

Outcomes: Participants will be able to:

  1. Use the Habits of a Systems Thinker and Systems Thinking tools to develop a commonly understood language that contributes to civil discourse and collaborative team functions.
  2. Use self-identified Habits of a Systems Thinker strengths to develop a shared understanding and appreciation of organizational potential.
  3. Apply the Habits and Tools of a Systems Thinker to:
    1. build capacity to identify problems
    2. collaboratively work with stakeholders to generate solutions
    3. implement new processes and systems
    4. evaluate results to inform future action

Structure:

  • Design team meeting of 3 - 5 people who represent leadership at multiple levels (½ day) where we will review perspectives about current conditions, establish desired outcomes and surface any other information that would contribute to a customized plan.
  • It is recommended that participant cohort represent diverse role and responsibilities throughout the organization
  • Full or half day sessions - 2 (full day) - 4 (half day) scheduled with time in between for practice and application
